Opened in November 2007, Rhythm Café came to be through the combined passions and efforts of three sisters originally from Haverhill, Sharon Wimmer, Cathy (Wimmer) Chouinard and Leslie (Wimmer) Fowler. Introduced to dining and mentored in the business of restaurants by their late father Paul Wimmer, the three sisters have spent most of their adult lives working in various roles in restaurants on both the east and west coasts. Each woman possesses a love of great dining, knowledge of food and food service and the desire to combine terrific food and wine in a comfy, cool and fun atmosphere. Individual strengths, such as Sharon’s wine expertise, Cathy’s easy-going customer relations and Leslie’s culinary talents made opening a place of their own a natural choice. Naming the endeavor “Rhythm Café” was a way to honor their father Paul, whose last restaurant in San Luis Obispo, CA was called The Rhythm Creekside Café. Family ties are strong and deep for the Wimmers. Sister Beth Wimmer’s photographs on canvas were the opening display on the café’s walls, and with mother Maureen’s antiques and collectibles shop “Wildwood” just across the street, she is Rhythm’s favorite customer. The focus of Rhythm Café is on quality of food and service and offering a great selection at competitive prices. The terrific location, comfortable and casual atmosphere and friendly, welcoming tone are all bonuses. And for Rhythm Café, this is just this beginning. |
