Featured Artist - Nancy
Giard
Nancy has been enjoying photography as a
hobby for over 20 years and is now showing her debut exhibit at Rhythm
Cafe. Rarely seen without her camera in reach, she is most intrigued by
finding unique perspectives in easily overlooked places. A native Kansan,
Nancy moved to Merrimac in 1996 and quickly became enamored with the rich
New England history, seafaring culture and beautiful, varied landscapes.
This exhibit is a collection of the artist's unique perspective on our
local scenes including detailed nature studies and one special photo of
Nancy's favorite Midwestern landscape.
Artist's Statement:
"What
I think is interesting about this collection is that if you are a visitor
to our area, like me, you will fall in love with the plentiful beauty New
England landscapes provide. My hope is that locals like me will also see
these images and recognize them as a new and unique perspective on the
familiar. I want people to recognize that art is all around us, that
images you see every day can be captured and examined independently and
enjoyed for their aesthetic value"
We are so pleased to have
Nancy's photos grace our walls. One of Rhythm's favorite customers along
with her husband Peter, it's a great pleasure to have Nancy exhibit with
us. Please come and meet her in person on Thursday, February 16th, when we
host an artist reception in Nancy's
honor.
